The fleet includes Ford E-Transit tippers and Vauxhall Vivaro E-Prime vans, which are expected to reduce the council’s carbon emissions by 58 tonnes annually. These vehicles form part of a broader contract hire agreement with SFS, covering 56 vehicles in total, including refuse collection and kerbside recycling vehicles, vans, and a street sweeper.

Cllr Peter Williams, Executive Member for Environmental Services, said: 'Our waste, recycling, parking, and enforcement teams are proud to lead by example by adopting these new vehicles. Together, we can drive towards a greener, more sustainable future for Teignbridge.'

Bob Sweetland, SFS Managing Director, added that the fleet upgrade supports the council’s climate action targets while improving operational efficiency, showcasing the benefits of adopting alternative fuel technology.
