Fit with cutting-edge technology that provides 24-hour CCTV surveillance footage 7 days a week, Wirral’s Community Reassurance van is an invaluable addition to the council’s 2021-2026 plan to protect residents against local crime.

The versatile vehicle that has been financed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund is equipped to combat threats such as disorderly conduct amongst the public, as well as environmental issues such as fly tipping.

Through a live feed shared with Merseyside Police, the surveillance vehicle provides a direct link to local authorities, serving the dual function of reassuring and protecting members of the community.

The introduction of Wirral’s Community Reassurance van is the latest development in Operation Staysafe, a scheme devised by the council to reduce anti-social behaviour.
