The Scarab 7.5-tonne vehicle is the latest addition to Warminster Town Council’s fleet, serving as an upgrade for the local authority’s previous road sweeper.

After enlisting the help of residents to name the vehicle, the monikers ‘Sweep Caroline’, ‘Obi-Wan Cleanobi’ and ‘Meryl Sweep’ made the final three, with the latter gaining over 47% of votes.

In a statement, the council confirmed that the winning name is now ‘proudly displayed on the new vehicle’.

‘Warminster Town Council remains committed to keeping the town clean, tidy and welcoming for both residents and visitors’, the statement reads.
