W H Malcolm has partnered with Vision Techniques to install road safety equipment across its fleet of 45 vehicles.

The UK wide company has installed VT Vuew dash cameras to their vehicles as an effective way to collect evidence if no or only contradicting witnesses are available.

Using this camera technology solve issues quickly as and when they may arise. ‘Crash for cash’ scams have hit the headlines recently with the UK’s Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) estimating it costs around £340m every year.

Not only does this increase insurance premiums, it also impacts on vehicle downtime, repair costs, driver safety and a business’ reputation.

VT Vuew is the latest 4G enabled dash camera that offers a full 1080HD image with the latest Sony STARVIS technology to give a clear image, even in ultra-low lighting. It then stores this information on the internally secured SD card to avoid any tampering. This system can also be paired to use with VT Recording systems and VT Connect platform.

The Malcolm Group has become one of the leading providers of Logistics, Construction and Maintenance services in the UK. With three core divisions, the company now has 2,000 employees working across 16 sites throughout the UK and operates over 500 vehicles and 1,200 trailers.

Robert Snodgrass, business support for W H Malcolm, said: ‘Unfortunately, we've seen a large rise in accidents and need to eliminate risk wherever possible. Our priority is to ensure we are creating a safe environment for our employees to work in and that our vehicles are the safest they can be for the public, and these products help us do that as well as eliminating false claims.’
