On Thursday morning, the bin lorry was on the promenade in the town of Rhyl when the ground suddenly opened up beneath the truck.
No one from the collection crew was hurt in the incident.
The area has been secured with barriers and pedestrians are still able to walk along the sea front.
A Denbighshire County Council spokesperson commented: ‘The vehicle has now been retrieved. No physical injuries have been reported and engineers will be investigating the cause of the incident.’
