Great Yarmouth Borough Council has taken delivery of two diesel mechanical road sweepers for its street cleansing fleet.
The Boschung S2 sweepers have replaced a pair of ageing machines at Great Yarmouth Services, the council’s company that oversees waste cleansing and street cleaning.
The manufacturers travelled to Great Yarmouth to deliver training on the new vehicles for staff.
The sweepers are more fuel efficient than their predecessors and have cleaner engines, according to the local authority.
Portfolio holder for environment, sustainability and waste Paul Wells said: ‘The team at Great Yarmouth Services works extremely hard and these new vehicles will help build on the work it does.
‘The sweepers are cost effective and efficient and are a valuable new addition to the fleet as we continue to focus on delivering the highest standards of street cleaning possible.’
