Councillors in Glasgow have approved plans to spend more than £1.3m on 180 new electric cars.

Glasgow City Council currently uses Nissan Leaf electric vehicles (EVs), leased with support from Transport Scotland, but the contract expires in 2025.
The replacement cars will be bought from Nissan and will have larger batteries to provide greater range, the local authority said.
A council report says: ‘This increase in range will provide greater reassurance to vehicle users, and remove the need to constantly recharge vehicles, increasing availability capacity of the council’s fleet EV charging network.’
The local authority, which has 1,600 vehicles, said it was working to create a zero-emissions fleet by 2030.
