The state-of-the-art machinery cost £46,000 and will be assisting the local authority’s transportation services in completing road marking work.

In contrast to diesel-powered equipment, the electric vehicle provides carbon reduction benefits, as well as boosting operational standards, service delivery and productivity levels.

The move is part of the council’s wider aims to support its sustainability and environmental goals.

Fife's roads spokesperson, Cllr Altany Craik, said: ‘This new road marking vehicle is a significant upgrade from our previous diesel-powered road marking lorry.

‘It will enable us to work more efficiently, safely, and sustainably, ensuring a higher standard of service for communities across Fife.’
