The new product development, which was unveiled at the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone recently where it swept the track between races, is based around Volvo’s FMX 4x2 rigid chassis with full air suspension and a three star DVS (Direct Vision Standard) rating.
The safety features, such as Front Short Range Assist and Side Collision Avoidance Support, have also been enhanced by Aebi Schmidt’s collaboration with Leeds head-quartered vehicle safety specialists, SM UK, to add further levels of safety to the new sweeper.
Edward Barrie, SM UK Business Development Manager (Midlands) said: ‘In conjunction with all the Volvo factoryfit safe systems, plus the addition of the installation of our innovative safety features, we believe that safety on the new SK660 will be taken to another level, with the focus on prevention, rather than just reducing risk.’
Aebi Schmidt UK sales manager, Matt Elderkin, commented: ‘By collaborating with Volvo and SM UK in this way, we have sought to achieve the highest safety levels possible on our new SK660, making driver and pedestrian safety paramount.'
‘We are all thrilled to be able to demonstrate the many safety features the new SK660 will bring,’ he added.
