Horsham District Council has revealed plans to buy seven new bin lorries for its fleet.

The move to acquire the fleet assets was confirmed in a council meeting last week, according to the BBC.
To support the purchase of the lorries, which will cost the local authority £1.73m in total, the council will be using funds from its capital expenditure budget.
Alongside the seven new vehicles, the council will also be spending £50,000 to replace two bin lifts that are no longer functional.
A council spokesperson said: ‘We are dealing with a lot of breakdowns which impacts on our resources so need these new vehicles to continue to deliver timely waste and recycling services.’
‘The seven new bin lorries are being purchased to replace some of our older fleet vehicles which have reached the end of their life’, they added.
