Research commissioned by Material Focus suggests that this increase, which includes single-use and single-use pod vapes, is being fuelled by the new ‘big puff’ style vapes.
According to Material Focus, ‘big puff’ vapes have been designed by producers to avoid the disposable vape ban set to come into force in June 2025.
Scott Butler, executive director of Material Focus, said: ‘Vape producers are being infinitely creative with their products in order to avoid the forthcoming disposable vape ban.’
He added: ‘Without quick and extensive action, the threat of a vapocalypse remains and new big puff vape models are already contributing to an environmental nightmare.’
