The local authority said it received more than 100 entries, with many ‘unique and comic’ suggestions, after launching a competition to name the vehicles.
It has now revealed the winning names: Binderella and Lightning McClean.
The council’s lead member for operational services, Chris Leather, said: ‘Congratulations to the winners who can now proudly see their name suggestions emblazoned on the vans for all to see.
‘The waste and recycling team’s task of selecting the winners was daunting, given the sheer quality and quantity of name submissions.’
