Grasstalavista and friends debut new names in Gateshead

Gateshead Council’s environmental fleet has been given a fresh look as local children assign new creative names to the local authority’s vehicles.

Following a naming competition held by the council last year, the grass cutters and tractor in its environmental fleet have received updated monikers, with eight winning entries having been selected from the suggestions.

The successful titles are:

• Grasstalavista
• Albie Mowing
• Hay-Way the Lads
• Choptimus Prime
• Lawn and Order
• The Trim Reaper
• Mow Deere
• Colin the Cutterpillar

According to the local authority, the names have now been imprinted on the vehicles and will be visible while they deliver services during grass-cutting season.

They will support the council’s environmental team in completing its grass cutting work, which involves the maintenance of parks, green spaces, and roadside verges.
