One of Southampton City Council’s bin lorries was involved in a crash with a tree last week.
The incident last Thursday saw the refuse vehicle crash into a tree during its morning rounds.
It caused the tree to collapse and resulted in two cars being damaged – one of which was a white Land Rover Discovery.
The council has since confirmed that no crew members were injured, with the vehicle having been able to proceed with its collections after the incident took place.
A council spokesperson said: ‘The incident was reported immediately and our highways team arranged for the fallen tree to be cleared.
‘The area has now been cleared and Highways officers have also spoken with the owners of the vehicles affected. Council officers will now look into the circumstances surrounding the incident to understand how it happened.’
