South Kesteven District Council has introduced three new refuse vehicles branded with health and wellbeing messages.
The freighters will join the existing seven vehicles in the council’s fleet that carry awareness messages about important causes including breast and prostate cancer.
Rolled out at the council’s depot yesterday, the new vehicles have been designed to support the following charities: Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse Specialist Service (LDASS), and Help For Heroes.
According to the local authority, each lorry is painted in the brand colours of one of the organisations, reflecting a ‘continuing commitment to promoting health awareness’ in the district.

Cllr Rhys Baker, Cabinet Member for Environment and Waste, said: ‘We set out three years ago on a mission to use our freighter fleet to carry highly visible health and wellbeing messages to residents.
‘We are delighted to launch these three new lorries to continue that mission. We now have 10 freighters with wide-ranging messaging to appeal to different people. We get real interest and interaction from the public when they are out and about. That bodes well for our new lorries and how many people they will be helping.’
Ann Canter, Senior Manager and Outreach Engagement Team Manager at LDASS, said: ‘This partnership allows us to bring lifesaving information directly into the community. For many survivors, knowing where to turn and knowing they will be believed can change everything. We’re grateful to be part of a project that helps make support more accessible to those who need it most.’
Kat Scaife, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Cystic Fibrosis Trust added: ‘Cystic fibrosis is an incurable life-limiting, genetic condition affecting over 11,000 people in the UK. The Trust’s vital work for people affected by CF is only made possible by generous donations from supporters and collaborations with fantastic partners.’
