Medequip, a provider of community equipment services to local authorities and the NHS, is introducing CameraMatics’ AI-powered driver safety technology across an initial 350 vans within its 1,000-strong fleet.
Following a competitive tender, each vehicle will be fitted with the Genie Pro in-cab cameras and a full telematics package, giving fleet managers real-time insight into driver behaviour alongside data on vehicle utilisation and operational performance.
The system monitors for signs of distraction or fatigue, as well as external hazards, issuing in-cab audio alerts to help drivers react before an incident occurs.
Richard Horton, Head of Fleet at Medequip, said the platform puts drivers at the centre of its approach, reinforcing the company’s focus on duty of care while supporting a safer, more efficient operation.
