Scarab Sweepers wins Made in Britain excellence award

Kent-based road sweeper manufacturer Scarab Sweepers has been named an ‘outstanding ambassador for British manufacturing’ after winning the 2026 Made in Britain Trademark Excellence Award.

The Tonbridge company, part of the Fayat Group, received the accolade at the organisation’s Impact Awards on 4 November. The award recognises manufacturers that demonstrate the commercial, environmental and social benefits of making goods in Britain.

Scarab was praised for using Made in Britain’s Environmental and Social Value Certification to show responsible procurement practices and strengthen its position when bidding for contracts. It also supports local food banks, contributes to native tree planting through the Woodland Trust and runs environmental education initiatives for young children.

Managing Director Richard Dennis said the 47-year-old business was ‘proud to be made in Britain’.

Made in Britain chair Camilla Hadcock said the trademark was about ‘values, expertise and responsible practices’, not just where a product is manufactured.

Now in its second year, the award follows inaugural winner Thomas Dudley in 2025.
