Eastleigh Borough Council has seen significant improvements in fleet reliability and efficiency since adopting Fleetclear’s LIVE tracking technology across its operations, the company says.
The council’s 50+ vehicles, including Refuse Collection Vehicles, Luton vans and tippers, are now fitted with Fleetclear’s 360° LIVE camera systems, the Cyclear™ cyclist safety warning device and reverse radar.
Eastleigh BC has also switched to the Fleetclear Connect software platform, consolidating data from all vehicle safety equipment into a single, customisable web-based dashboard giving supervisors full visibility of fleet operations.
Previously, the council relied on two separate systems for tracking and cameras. Tom Broomfield, Street Services Manager at Eastleigh BC, explained: ‘It was very disjointed before; we couldn’t get the systems to talk to each other, coverage wasn’t great and we had blackspots across the borough. We now have 99% coverage.
‘Switching to Fleetclear has been a gamechanger. We know where all our vehicles are at any one time and can review any camera at the touch of a button.’
Dylan McKinnon, Operational Trainee in Street Services at the council, added that the system allows staff to quickly verify incidents, such as missed bin collections, by checking camera footage almost instantly, ensuring issues are resolved accurately and efficiently.
