The Environmental and Social Value (ESV) Certification was presented to the road cleansing vehicle manufacturer due to its ‘commitment to people, planet and place’.

Commenting on the achievement, Scarab Sweepers said the ESV Certification supports the company’s aims of delivering ongoing advancements in its environmental and social practices.

These improvements are rooted in the use of sustainable procurement methods, assessments of its local and environmental footprints, and the delivery of employee support.

The certification is guided by the UK Government’s Social Value Model and Procurement Act 2023 and offers a ‘commercial edge’ to companies seeking to demonstrate the positive impact of their work.

Callum Huthwaite, Marketing Manager at Scarab Sweepers, said: ‘In the last couple of years, we have started looking into what we can do as a large, global-reaching company to restrict our environmental impact and improve our efficiency and safety. As part of this, the ESV Certification was a perfect fit for us and came at the perfect time - we were really delighted to receive it.’

‘It’s a really important credential that we can showcase to our customers, adding trust and credibility that we’re not just saying something to secure an order - we’re actually geared up to support them for the future.’

‘This is just the starting point for us, as we see the certification as part of our bigger journey to deliver even more positive environmental and social change.’

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: ‘The ESV Certification is uniquely designed to both inform and empower UK manufacturers, so I’m thrilled to hear the benefits the accreditation has brought to Scarab Sweepers and the many other businesses that are gaining advantage in this way.’
