Scarab: MERLIN 55

The Merlin 55 is a full-feature 5.5 cubic metre sweeper on a 7.5-tonne chassis, capable of delivering exceptional cleansing results thanks to its class-leading payload.

Favoured by many municipal and contracting operators, the Merlin 55 is powered by Scarab’s industry-leading single-engine system which offers a host of environmental and operational benefits, including decreased noise and engine emissions, reduced fuel consumption, less weight, greater payload and reduced maintenance.

Furthermore, thanks to the innovative design, this system affords the Merlin 55 to use a range of powerful sweeping options, such as dual-sweep and high-pressure water, and a 900-litre water tank – without compromising the weight or performance of the machine.

MERLIN 55 options:

The Merlin 55 comes with a variety of additional options to help any operator meet the demands of their operation.

Water:

• High-pressure / High Volume Pump with a hand lance and self-retracting hose reel.

• Additional Dust Suppression for Suction Nozzles (A 4-jet water-boost bar in front of the nozzle).

• Additional Dust Suppression for Suction Tubes (Four additional jets at the top of the suction tube).

• Detergent Injection Kit for use with the Hand Lance on difficult cleaning operations.

• Hydrant Standpipe, Key and 3 metres of 50 mm lay-flat hose for on-task replenishment of water.

• Simultaneous Wash & Sweep Facility

Brushes:

• Dual Sweep (A second Channel Brush on opposite side of the sweeper + Swivelling Widesweep)

• Simultaneous Dual Sweep (Both channel brushes and widesweep operate together)

• Vari Brush (variable in/out brush control)

Suction System:

• Door-mounted Wanderhose

Miscellaneous:

• Reduction Gearbox in driveline for Unidrive variants
