NRG Riverside acquires Specialist Fleet Services in fleet expansion

Lancashire-based NRG Riverside has announced the acquisition of Specialist Fleet Services (SFS) from Paragon Banking Group, in a deal expected to complete in July 2026.

SFS, headquartered in Northampton, provides contract hire, vehicle leasing and fleet management solutions to public and private sector customers across the UK, alongside its CTS Municipal Vehicle Hire division in Gloucestershire.

NRG Riverside CEO Darren Powell said he was delighted to welcome SFS to the portfolio, describing it as a business with a first-class reputation for customer service that fits perfectly with NRG Riverside’s approach.

SFS Managing Director Bob Sweetland confirmed the business will continue under the same management team, brand and customer focus, with the backing of the wider NRG group.

‘NRG is one of the UK’s leading specialist fleet management companies, and this transaction gives us the opportunity to build on the progress we have made as part of Paragon,’ he said.

‘SFS will continue with the same management team, brand and customer focus, but now with the added value of the wider NRG business. Our priority remains delivering the service, expertise and relationships that our customers and partners value.’

NRG Riverside operates 18 service and maintenance depots across the North West and South East, supported by 24 mobile engineers and 300 service partners.
