Meet Lamborgreenie: Pupils dub bin lorries with new names

Dacorum Borough Council has rebranded its bin lorry fleet as it announces new names for 45 of its vehicles.

The local authority has confirmed that 13 schools had been successful after entering the naming competition in March, which saw over 450 entries submitted.

Among the winning names suggested by pupils were Bagman and Robin, Colin the Carboard Crusher, Lamborgreenie, Michael Recycle, and Sir Stinks a lot.

The results were announced last Friday by the Mayor of Dacorum, Cllr Catherine McArevey, with the winning names now being ‘proudly displayed’ on the vehicles.

‘Each winner will receive a special certificate to celebrate their creativity. They will also have the opportunity to meet their named bin lorry during a school visit organised by our recycling education team’, a council statement revealed yesterday.
