Dennis Eagle, the prominent manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), has opened a new Service Centre in Durham, to strengthen aftermarket support across the Northeast of England.
The eight-bay workshop, on the Drum Industrial Estate, offers a full range of services including MOTs, LOLER inspections, preventative maintenance and major repairs, alongside a fully stocked parts warehouse for Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK vehicles.
Aftermarket Director Geoff Rigg said demand for the company’s RCVs was growing across the region, and the well-connected Durham site would allow engineers to support customers including Durham County Council and Northumberland County Council.
The centre also marks a return to the area, where Dennis Eagle previously ran a facility repairing and refurbishing fire engines near Durham. To mark the connection, a 1975 Dennis ‘D Series’ fire engine and a 1989 Dennis Delta RCV were displayed at the opening.
The site fills a gap in Dennis Eagle’s service network between existing centres in Cumbernauld and Leeds and will also host a new team of field service engineers and become a regional training centre for technicians.
