A local authority has proved their intent to reduce carbon emissions by introducing two electric vehicles to deliver council services.

Fylde Council has confirmed the over £47,000 contract for the new Nissan vehicles has been secured, accompanied by two charging stations, the construction of which will cost £3,350.
Cllr Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Customer and Operational Services, said: ‘This investment demonstrates our practical commitment to addressing climate change while maintaining quality service delivery.’
The Capital Project for Carbon Neutral Vehicles contributed £34,000 to the local authority’s over £50,450 fleet renovation, whilst the Capital Fleet Replacement Programme assisted the council in reaching the final figure by supplying a further £16,450.
‘By transitioning our fleet to more environmentally friendly alternatives, we’re making meaningful progress toward our carbon reduction goals, aligning with our corporate commitment to creating a cleaner, greener environment for our residents’, Cllr Michelle Morris added.
