A new zero-emissions highways vehicle has been added to Denbighshire County Council’s fleet.
The Citroën Ë-C5 Aircross SUV has been acquired to replace a fossil fuel vehicle that had reached the end of its operational life, with the new addition being expected to provide cost savings and environmental benefits due to its lower carbon footprint.
According to the council, the new vehicle will assist teams in completing major highways work, as well as helping them carry out inspections at site visits and supervise construction works.
The council has confirmed that highways teams are responsible for maintaining the 1,400 kilometres of roads in Denbighshire, delivering services such as pothole repair and road resurfacing shcemes.
Cllr Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport said: ‘This addition to the major projects team will help them deliver their work whilst delivering greener and also lower long-term costs for miles and regular maintenance.’
