If you enjoy working outdoors, meeting people, and making a real difference in your local community, this could be the perfect role for you.
We're looking for enthusiastic and motivated Civil Enforcement Officers to join our growing Parking Services team. Whether you're looking for a new challenge, a career change, or your first step into local government, we provide full training and support to help you succeed.
About the Role
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting local communities and visitors across North Yorkshire. Your responsibilities will include:
· Issuing Penalty Charge Notices using handheld computer equipment
· Providing excellent customer service and assisting members of the public with enquiries
· Patrolling designated areas independently and as part of a team
· Reporting highway defects, damaged signs, faulty street lighting, and other hazards to help keep our communities safe
· Preparing clear and accurate reports when required
· Acting as a visible presence within the community, helping to improve compliance and support safer parking practices
No two days are ever the same, and you'll regularly engage with residents, visitors, businesses, and colleagues from across the council.
In the vibrant spa town of Harrogate you’ll be patrolling a bustling town centre, supporting the local community, and enjoying the benefits of working outdoors. You'll play an important role in helping residents and visitors enjoy safe, accessible parking facilities while contributing to the smooth operation of our local communities.
If you're looking for a role that combines independence, responsibility, customer service, and the opportunity to be active throughout the day, then this could be the perfect career for you.
