Vehicle Weighing Solutions (VWS) has opened a new office in Sweden marking the company's expansion into Scandinavia.
VWS designs, manufactures, installs and services a wide range of weighing solutions for businesses across the globe, and is widely recognised as the UK market leader in onboard vehicle weighing systems, bin weighing equipment and axle overload protection.
Michael Hofverhagen, Director of Operations, will be running the new VWS Applied Weighing operation and has over 30 years' worth of experience in waste management, particularly with refuse vehicles and HGV manufacturers including Geesink Norba, Joab and Volvo trucks.
Michael, who is also a trained mechanical engineer, commented: 'There is definitely a need for a new, reliable and accurate weighing systems provider across Scandinavia. VWS products are tried, tested and proven to be successful in the field. There has already been lots of interest from potential customers and RenoNorden have placed an order so the outlook looks very good. I am particularly looking forward to presenting our product range at the Transport 2019 exhibition in Denmark in March'
Initially, Michael will be focusing on Denmark and Norway, as there are some key contracts out for tender and major exhibitions taking place in those countries, followed closely by Sweden and Finland.
VWS already produces and installs over 1000 weighing systems for refuse collection vehicles each year and works closely with all the leading bodybuilders including Geesinknorba, NTM, Dennis Eagle, Hillend Engineering and the Faun-Zoeller group. Customers include global companies such as Suez, Veolia and Remondis.
