South Derbyshire District Council has been facing issues with missed bin collections over the past month.

Services scheduled for over 110 streets have been delayed, with 112 streets overall having experienced late collections this month.
According to the council, a shortage of staff has contributed to the issue, with the local authority describing the time as a ‘difficult period’.
The council has returned to the affected areas to complete late collections ‘as quickly as possible’.
Heidi McDougall, the council’s executive director for environment and communities, said: ‘Recently we have been experiencing staff shortages, which has resulted in a small percentage of bins being missed.
‘Whenever, there is any disruption to service delivery, the information is shared on our website. Advice to residents remains the same – please leave your bin out for collection, and we will return as soon as possible.
‘We thank residents for their patience and understanding.’
