With a network of seven regional service centres and 130 dedicated support staff across the UK, Bucher is committed to delivering fast, reliable support that keeps vehicles moving and municipal services running. From next day deliveries on parts and spares to providing expert City & Guilds Assured training, to rapid roadside assistance, the goal is simple: to maximise uptime.

‘Having engineers all across the UK means we can promise our customers what others can’t,’ says mobile engineer Matt Davis. That promise is backed by 74 field service engineers, a first-time fix rate of 86%*, an impressive average vehicle off-road response time of just 4.8 hours† and a parts stock of over 30,000 line items worth over £13m for speedy delivery.

With a growing team of certified trainers, demo drivers, and technical support experts, Bucher Municipal ensures fleets stay operational and operators get the most from their machines. The training provided equips operators with the knowledge and confidence to use Bucher equipment safely and effectively. ‘We provide more than a service, it’s a partnership, one that’s committed to keeping our customers operations running smoothly,’ adds Darren Mitchell Training Team Leader.

As customer demand grows, so does Bucher’s infrastructure. So far, this year has seen the relocation or expansion of three regional service centres, and a major redevelopment of its Dorking manufacturing site underway, all part of a wider £11m investment into long-term UK service support.

In Castle Donnington, a brand-new 28,500 ft² service depot – Bucher’s largest in Europe – is near completion at Studbrook Business Park. Set across two acres, the new purpose built central regional site will house a UK-wide PDI centre for the Bucher Municipal sewer cleaners and gully tankers. The new depot will be the home for their demonstration fleet, used equipment refurbishment, ‘ready to go’ new and used stock and will also be a central training academy. Designed to the highest environmental standards, the site is on track to achieve an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating.

In addition, Bristol’s Avonmouth depot, the South West Regional service centre, has doubled in size. The new facility at Burcott Road increases floorspace from 7,300 ft² to 14,135 ft², providing more space for heavy-duty vehicle servicing and a growing technician team.

The Slough service centre will also relocate to a larger and more practical unit close to the existing site to accommodate growing demand.

In Dorking, where Bucher Municipal has been based for over 100 years, the company has acquired additional land to redevelop the factory site for the future. The new plans will improve manufacturing flow, and reduce carbon emissions, paving the way for the next century of UK-based engineering.

Bucher Municipal is proving that great machines and dedicated customer support keep the wheels turning.
