Bucher Municipal unveils new electric sweeper for tight urban spaces

Bucher Municipal has launched the CityCat VR17e, a new all-electric compact sweeper designed to help UK councils clean narrow streets and urban spaces more efficiently.

The CityCat VR17e is the smallest addition to the company’s electric range, combining a compact design with four-wheel steering to deliver excellent manoeuvrability in confined areas such as alleyways, footpaths and town centres.

Despite its size, it offers a payload of up to 1,400kg, enabling operators to collect more waste per shift and reduce downtime.

With over 10 hours of electric operation and a rapid one-hour recharge, the sweeper is built for full working days while minimising emissions.

A high-performance suction system also supports improved air quality by removing debris and fine particles.

The new model aims to provide an affordable, low-emission solution for local authorities transitioning to cleaner, more efficient fleets, according to Bucher.

‘The CityCat VR17e has been designed to meet the cleaning challenges faced by UK councils,’ said a Simon Stringer, Sales Manager for Sweepers at Bucher Municipal.

‘It combines compact agility, strong payload capacity and efficient electric operation in a package that supports both environmental ambitions and operational budgets.’
