A new fleet of 17 refuse collection vehicles and sweepers has been delivered to Spelthorne Borough Council by Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS).
The delivery is part of a six-year contract to replace the fleet and maintain it in a dedicated workshop on-site.
Jackie Taylor, group head of neighbourhood services at Spelthorne Borough Council, said: 'During the tender process we undertook a full and thorough evaluation of all the bids and scored each according to a set of criteria.
'SFS won the most points and offered the best solution in terms of quality and price. The vehicles will also be equipped with the latest safety and weighing technology. We look forward to working with the team at SFS and we are confident they will help us to further improve our service to residents'
The council is committed to improving recycling rates and the new vehicles will be sign-written to promote sustainability.
Bob Sweetland, managing director of Specialist Fleet Services, said: 'This is the first time we have worked with Spelthorne Borough Council and we hope this will be the beginning of a long-standing partnership'
