CTS takes on new fleet and increases its vehicle offering

Gloucestershire-based municipal vehicle hire specialists CTS has taken delivery of 10 new vehicles, including seven new RCV increasing its hire fleet to 200 vehicles.
The new tranche of vehicles, which are already out on hire, comprise three 3.5-tonne caged tippers, three 26 tonne Dennis Eagle rear steer vehicles, two 18 tonne Dennis Eagle RCVs and two DAF NTM refuse trucks.
Bob Sweetland, managing director for CTS said: ‘In the past 12 months we have practically doubled the CTS fleet and our aim is to continue this rate of expansion during 2017. As well as our short term hire service we also have a number of contract hire customers who have chosen CTS for their entire fleet provision.’
CTS provides flexible and competitive municipal vehicle hire services for the short or long term and is part of contract hire and fleet management company Specialist Fleet Services (SFS).
The company stocks a wide range of vehicles of all different makes, models, sizes and specifications from 3.5-tonnr to 32 tonne RCVs, specialist recycling vehicles and self-drive hire sweepers to hook loaders, skip loaders and caged tippers. The fleet is supported by a 24/7 breakdown and recovery service, and a team of mobile engineers, as well as a network of nationwide workshops and service agents. Every CTS vehicle carries a tracker to allow customers to monitor performance and for traceability.

Gulliver's Truck Hire, a nationwide company with its head office in Bristol, has recently been investing heavily in the latest RCV equipment for the contract hire and spot rental vehicle fleets. - Case study: a different league of second-hand vehicles
Swindon Commercial Services (SCS) is a wholly owned company of Swindon Borough Council and is responsible for the waste collection, recycling, grounds and housing maintenance and fleet services within the local authority area. SCS operates a fleet of 16 RCVs and, in the past, if there was any shortfall in capacity due to a vehicle being off road for example, they would hire a replacement vehicle. In order to continue to focus on efficiencies, in September this year when an older vehicle was due for replacement, SCS decided to look at the possibility of purchasing a secondhand vehicle.
