Transpoco has appointed Vehicle Quality Solutions (VQS) to install black box telematics technology for its UK customers.

VQS will use its nationwide network of engineers to install and reinstall the Transpoco Synx fleet management solution, which integrates fuel data, vehicle tracking and reporting, driver behaviour and fleet maintenance checks.

The Dublin-based global fleet telematics supplier is targeting specialist fleets, such as local authority vehicles, as customers.

'VQS was the perfect partner for us as its UK network of engineers is used to carrying out work on fleet vehicles to very exacting standards,' said Transpoco's CEO Andrew Fleury.

'The VQS team is also to working to tight deadlines, which will reduce downtime for our customers. Its UK operations team have completed their training and will provide a high level of customer experience on our behalf,' he added.

VQS operations director Steve Weston has been responsible for setting up the Transpoco partnership. He said: 'Our team is used to working to consistently high standards in vehicle inspection and we have mirrored those with our telematics installations. We are already looking at increasing the size of our field team to meet the growing needs of both our telematics and vehicle inspection customers'
