The Gap Group says it has bought 130 new X ECO Lighting Towers from Trime that had been ordered by Hewden before it went into administration in November 2016.

It says an agreement was reached between the joint administrators (SJ Woodward and CP Dempster) and Trime in relation to the lighting towers. Trime has, in turn, reached a separate agreement with GAP, which has now purchased the lighting towers and has mobilised its team to confirm handover with all relevant sites, customers and previous Hewden depots.

GAP was the first national hire provider to have invested in such lighting towers from Trime. Following site trials with their major customers who were impressed with both the increased efficiency and significant cost savings achieved with them, GAP has now expanded its fleet to 400, the largest in the UK.

The new model sees the inclusion of LED lamps, which offers several benefits. Chief among them is that there are no bulbs, lamp glass, ballasts or capacitors ' all of which often needed replaced on-site, taking up valuable time.

Also, the system's automated start/stop technology means man-hours are significantly reduced throughout the course of a project. And the LED floodlights are guaranteed for 50,000 hours, providing reliability users.
