A local kids' football team, Ransomes Sports FC U9s, has been set-up to compete in the 7-a-side Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League.

The groundcare equipment manufacturer has sponsored the kit for the 2016-17 season and will play their home matches on the company's pitch next to Ransomes' Sports and Social Club, which is now owned by Ipswich council and is also home to Ransomes Sports FC.

Manager Nick Joy, thanked Ransomes Jacobsen for the training kit and the invitation to play on the company's pitch, and said: 'I am really pleased with the how the kits have turned out; they look great! The boys had a great time training on the pitch. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the facility. It was very generous of them to invite us down'

Ransomes Jacobsen's marketing & communications manager international Karen Proctor said: 'We are delighted to be supporting a local football team which has links with the history of our company.


'We are lucky to be able to have such great facilities on-site and, of course, the equipment to maintain them. It was our pleasure to host the boys' training session and we wish them every success for the new season!'
