Mick George has taken delivery of two brand new refuse collection vehicles from Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS) to meet growing demand for its services.
One of the vehicles is on a three-year contract hire agreement and the other vehicle, from the RVS RediTruck stock, has been purchased outright.
Lukasz Borodziuk, operations manager at Mick George, said: 'We needed new trucks due to the number of new commercial waste contracts starting and we knew that RVS would provide quality vehicles, an efficient service and great support at a competitive price'
The vehicles are both Scania P280 chassis fitted with Olympus 23w bodies and Beta trade bin lifts. The three-year contract hire agreement includes full maintenance, which will be carried out by RVS's specialist engineers. All costs, such as MOT tests and six weekly inspections of the chassis, body and bin lift, are included in the hire package.
Paul Brown, commercial director of RVS said: 'RediTruck enables waste and recycling operators to buy a new refuse vehicle without having to wait for manufacturers' long lead times. Customers can drive away a RediTruck with full commercial specification within days or weeks of placing an order.
'We wanted to offer customers the opportunity to have a brand new vehicle without the capital expenditure. And we have the expertise to keep the vehicle in optimum working order. At the end of the contract they can just hand the vehicle back without having to worry about its condition or residual values'
A leading provider of soil disposal, aggregate & concrete supply and waste management services Mick George is the largest independent supplier to the construction industry in East Anglia and the East Midlands. The company runs a fleet of more than 320 vehicles and first contacted RVS a few months ago with an urgent requirement for two 15t trade waste vehicles for a new contract with Cambridge University. RVS sourced the vehicles in a matter of days.
