Exhibitors are bringing numerous cutting edge products, services and new ideas to Future Fleet Forum including many band new ones.
Geesinknorba will be unveiling its new narrow-track refuse collection vehicle to delegates. It has been developed in a collaboration with DAF Trucks and the NRG Group after they identified operators' needs for a competitively priced RCV with a narrow footprint.
The result is a vehicle with a highly manoeuvrable vehicle with a big payload making it ideal for collections in tight streets and busy built-up areas.
Mick Hill, UK general manager of Geesinknorba said: ‘The vehicle is built on tried-and-tested kit ' we already made narrow-bodied vehicles. And the DAF chassis already had a great turning circle but when they fitted an additional mid-steer axle onto it and mounted the body and lift, the result was a very manoeuvrable vehicle with a turning circle that would beat everything else hands-down. The cab is also designed to offer very good visibility, making it ideal for tight, busy, urban streets.'
Hako will be conducting a ‘show and tell' demonstration of their state-of-the-art compact road sweeper, the City Master 1600, inviting delegates can try their hand at operating the machine.
Sylvie Giangolini, Hako manging director, said: ‘All our products are designed and built with the operator's safety and comfort in mind, as we understand that keeping them comfortable is a key factor in improving productivity.
‘Reducing the risk of back problems also means that less working days are lost through ill health, further reducing costs to the employer ' not to mention the very real suffering of the employee.
‘In the case of the Citymaster 1600, operators benefit from a full suspension chassis, a range of seating options, spacious cabin, excellent visibility and an innovative, integrated control panel.'
Brigade Electronics will be displaying a new mobile digital recording system which can capture up to 1164 hours of footage from up to eight cameras at any one time.
The system can be used to provide vital evidence when false claims are made or cover accidents or vandalism. And it also supports drivers who are under increased scrutiny.
Brigade will also demonstrate Backeye 360, an intelligent camera monitor system designed to assist low speed manoeuvrability by giving the driver a real-time surround view of the vehicle in a single image to eliminate blind spots.
Delegates will also be introduced to LoCity, a brand new industry-led programme from Transport for London designed to help the freight and fleet sector lead the way in improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions.
Over the next five years, LoCity will work with operators, vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure providers, procurers and other key stakeholders to increase the availability and uptake of low emission commercial vehicles. It will also offer guidance, tools, training and support as part of its LoCity Fleet Advice Programme.
Other exhibitors have plenty to offer, including connected fleet specialists CMS SupaTrak who are inviting delegates to come along to their stand to enter our free draw for a magnum of champagne.
Vehicle safety solutions provider Spillard Safety Systems will be showing off vehicle safety equipment that promote driver awareness ' especially to poor visibility and blind spots.
Jaama, the fleet management software provider, will be presenting its award-winning Key 2 Management system. The web-based system integrates vehicle, asset, driver and workshops to promote best practice, raise industry standards and provide practical fleet management solutions.
There will be plenty of interest in the Terberg Matec UK stand. The manufacturer of bin-lifts, weighing, RFiD and specialist collection bodies, recently became part of the new Terberg Ros Roca Group but says its global reach enables it to be more focused than ever on local requirements.
The team from refuse collection vehicle manufacturer FAUN Zoeller will be keen to tell delegates how their recent investments in robotic engineering is at the forefront of designing the fleets of the future as well as ensuring superior build quality.
SC Group will show off its off-road wheeled and tracked vehicles. The Devon-based company has continued to expand as new requirements for high-mobility cross-country vehicle designs make ever greater demands on the company's Engineering team. NRG Fleet Services has gone from strength to strength recently with acquisitions to provide almost every fleet service its customers could wish for. It now boasts the largest municipal rental fleet in the UK including skip loaders, hook loaders, refuse collection vehicles, rear and front end loaders and even wheelchair accessible buses.
And finally, leading RCV manufacturer Dennis Eagle will be showing off one of its vehicles fitted with all the state-of-the-art safety kit and telematics solutions.
