Ahern Waste Management has had one of its existing vehicles remanufactured and mounted onto a new Mercedes Antos chassis as part of a fleet replacement programme.
The work was carried out by Gloucestershire-based refuse vehicle supplier Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS).
Tony Anderson, Ahern resources coordinator, said: 'This is the first time we've had a Mercedes chassis and the body has been so well remanufactured you can't tell it apart from a new vehicle.
'RVS have done a superb job and we have also taken advantage
of their excellent vehicle hire services. We were leant a vehicle while ours was in the workshop and we hired a bin-weighing-ready, trade-waste vehicle to carry out a trial analysis of our rounds and identify the heaviest loads.'
RVS remanufactured Ahern's 2004 Heil Powerlink body with UTL Trade bin lift and mounted it onto a brand new Mercedes Antos chassis.
Tony Anderson added: 'The whole process with RVS has been fantastic and totally transparent. From the moment we gave them the order we received regular updates and they kept us up to speed regarding delivery. I'm sure we will be back soon to order more vehicles.'
