Veolia Water Technologies has been awarded a contract to supply a flagship Liquor Treatment Plant (LTP) at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water's Five Fords Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) near Wrexham, North Wales.
Welsh Water and partner Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) are developing a new sludge treatment centre at Five Fords WwTW. Welsh Water, the only not-for-profit water company in England and Wales, is investing £35m to transform the works into an energy park.
It will be the first of its kind in the industry to incorporate solar, advanced anaerobic digestion and hydro generation schemes at one site.
