Plant hire company Murphy Plant has expanded its rental fleet with an investment in 30 eco mobile welfare units from the Luton-based manufacturer AJC Trailers.

This order is for AJC's EasyCabin EcoSmart12 Air units. The EcoSmart12Air provides top quality canteen facilities for upto six persons, with a separate toilet, drying room and ample space to rest and eat.

The units feature LED lights fitted with passive infrared sensors (PIR sensor) which means the lights can safely remain illuminated all day and hot water available for up four hours each day without having to make the built-in generator operational. The ECOSmart12Air also features an energy efficient diesel heating system known as 'air'.

Murphy Plant director Mike Carpenter said: 'We decided to make this investment as we had, at any one time, on hire upwards of 60 mobile welfare units. Consequently, we invited a number of welfare unit manufacturers to demonstrate their products.

'The units we evaluated were of the highest quality, so it was a difficult choice to make, however, after much deliberation we decided that the EasyCabin ECOSmart12 had all the features and environmental benefits we needed to provide suitable, sustainable welfare facilities for all of our site workers'

The units have been delivered to Murphy Plant dressed in the iconic Murphy green livery, ready to be sent to sites throughout the country.

Murphy Plant is responsible for the day-to-day enablement and operation of plant, equipment and transport for the Murphy Group. The range of supply can be everything from a small electrical drill to a 135 tonne crawler-crane, or even specialist equipment with rail, pipelines, tunnelling, marine, or ground engineering.

EasyCabin is the brand name for static and mobile welfare accommodation units manufactured by AJC Trailers Limited. The company has been producing a range of mobile units since 1964 and presently operate from a modern 32,000 sq. ft. plant, based in Luton, Bedfordshire.
