Seven new staff have been appointed by Close Brothers Motor Finance to its Scottish team, including a new sales manager, an account manager and an operations manager.

The Livingston-based operation, which provides underwriting and helps with dealer-customer relationships, also appointed four branch underwriters.


The new team includes sales manager Matt Maley who will lead a team of five account managers. He has worked in industry for nearly 30 years and previously was head of sales at Manheim.

Joining him is account manager Mark Barker who previously worked at Scottish Motor Trader Association and has also worked in retail sales for a dealerships, including cars and LCVs.

Stephen Walsh is the new operations manager, responsible for running the Scottish branch. He has 13 years' banking experience, ranging from managing consumer lending to helping set up the overseas contact centre.

And Owen McAdam, Raymond Maxwell, Laura Sandison and Scott McEwan have been appointed as branch underwriters. McAdam has more than a decade of sales and management experience, Maxwell has 30 years' experience in finance and retail banking, Sandison has worked in the finance industry for 15 years and McEwan has a credit-oriented background.

The company is now in its sixteenth year in Scotland and CEO James Broadhead said: 'Expanding the team reinforces our commitment to the Scottish market. Our new recruits allow us to further focus and expand the support we can provide to our dealership-partners and customers in Scotland'
